We have had so many opportunities to share the Gospel again through the street ministry throughout the year. We now have 6-7 from our church out sharing the Gospel/ being trained on a regular basis which is wonderful. We endeavour to be gentle and kind at all times so as to reflect Christ in all that we do.
Unexpectedly, prison ministry opened up for us this year too, which has been uncomfortable but fruitful. Through the ministry we do on the streets of Hobart we meet all kinds of people and some of those have ended up on the inside. They are so appreciative of our visits and letters that we write as a church.
We are seeing good spiritual growth in many of those who are committed to coming to church and be discipled, and its great to see people free from all kinds of things. Its also hard work too as some struggle to move forward and the temptations of the flesh are difficult to overcome. Prayer meeting is always well attended and its great to pray for our city, in the city even though we don't have a building and the weather can be challenging at times. We continue to run our youth night which is an informal night where youth drop in, eat, play, and talk. Often there are times to have some deep conversations about God. One recent example is a youth that had been through a traumatic experience and couldn't stop seeing flashbacks to the event. After some talk and prayer he was set free from the flashbacks (to his amazement and that of his friends).
Some of the team at Love Hobart have also had various trips away this year, including doing street ministry in Melbourne, speaking on Evangelism in Canberra and a most blessed time in KL Malaysia preaching and speaking on raising godly kids and being interviewed on Rhema radio on evangelism, raising godly kids and prophetic art.
It’s been a most amazing year for us and at this time we are seeing more people become more and more open to the Gospel.
