Our Friday night youth night is going well and we often get more than 30 kids through. It has been stressful at times, but as time has gone on we are building relationships and gaining the respect of many of the young people and in recent weeks it's been a lot more peaceful. Although we don't have anything structured at the youth night we are having a lot of conversations about life, Jesus, being a Christian etc. Some of these kids come in just for a talk when they've got hard things going on in life and they need an adult to talk to. We pray for them and feed them and show unconditional love.
We are running a free sausage sizzle in Franklin Square on Saturday afternoons at the moment. This has been really well received as many people are just blown away that we would give out free hot dogs. This has made the way for open ears and hearts to hear the good news of the Gospel. We have been blessed to have a good turn out of young people helping us with the running of the sausage sizzle and we stand out from the crowd with our Love Hobart shirts.
We have had quite a number of the kids from the street ministry show up at church on quite a few Sundays. This is often a big step as a church meeting is not something they have experienced before. Some of them have even shared testimony. We never know who will come from one week to the next, but we are getting used to the unexpected arrival of some of them, sometimes half way through the service. And they always know there's food before and after too!
We ran three Fearless Evangelism training seminars this year with 25-30 people attending each one. Our October seminar saw Christians from six different denominations in attendance. We had a great afternoon and lots of good feedback.
So we continue to sow seeds, train and equip others in evangelism and pray for the harvest of lost souls into God's kingdom.
