Getting to know more people around town from all kinds of backgrounds with all kinds of beliefs and all kinds of issues going on in their lives. We do find 99% of people we meet on the streets are open to talking with us and even though there has been tension in Australia over the marriage debate we have been surprisingly well received even though we stand firmly on the Bible, that God designed marriage between one man and one woman, ideally for life. One of the big keys is remembering Jesus came NOT to condemn but to save; that God loves all people and that we need to represent God through love and truth- not judgement.
In September Helen had the privilege to baptise two of the older guys from church. One has been getting free of addictions and the other not able to read or write, but both have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. It is so encouraging to have them at our weekly prayer meeting and although they used to be too scared to pray out loud, they have now 'taken off' in prayer.
So now we are already in 2018. We are looking forward to running another evangelism training seminar in February with some new people sharing testimonies of their adventures of sharing the Gospel on the streets. In June we plan to run another exhibition at the Waterside Pavilion, this time on "Life?" We will endeavour to show through art and other media the preciousness and meaning of life.
