In June we hosted our first ever art exhibition entitled 'The Faces of Love Hobart & other art'. The Honourable Elise Archer opened the exhibition which was attended by approximately 100 people including the Dean of Hobart, Richard Humphrey. We also had live music by Beulah Song. Over the few days the exhibition was on we had several hundred people come through. Many of those that read the stories next to each of the faces of Love Hobart were very moved, sometimes to tears. The exhibition told the story of Love Hobart from its conception through to the lives now being touched through the street ministry, youth work and church.
Joanne and Helen also launched their books during that time. For a radio interview about their books please use this link. Some of the kids we've met through the street ministry spoke at the launch about the impact we have had on them. Also David Plumpton, retired inspector of the Hobart Police, shared some valuable insights into the ministry we are doing especially with the youth. Then our 3 older sons provided some live music. Both books are available for purchase on our resource page.
At this time we are very encouraged by some good changes we are seeing with those we have met through the ministry of Love Hobart. There have been some salvation's but mostly at the moment we are seeing lives changed as different ones get free from marijuana, cigarettes, alcohol and porn etc. The relationships and trust are growing and we are finding more and more young people asking questions on the important issues of life.
