At our Sunday meetings (Church on the Rock) we are seeing more and more people take part sharing testimonies, praying, leading the service and preaching. Below is a photo of our youngest daughter sharing about God the Creator. It's very encouraging to see people rise up out of their comfort zones and do more than what they thought they could do.
Then on Monday evenings we have our prayer meeting outside as we don't have the use of a building then. This has had its challenges, especially in the middle of winter when it is freezing cold, but there has been many blessings from being outside too. So many times we have been driving into the prayer meeting in the pouring rain and by the time we park our car and walk to the prayer meeting the rain stops. Then more often than not when this happens, it will often start raining again on our way home. We thank the Lord for this. We encourage people who attend Church on the Rock to come to the prayer meeting as it is so powerful when God's people meet together to pray. And as you can see from the picture below we get a mixture of ages coming along. We sometimes get people we know who are walking past stop and join in and at other times we get to share the Gospel too.
In June 2017 we will be running our first ever art exhibition. Along with this we will be launching two books. Joanne, 29, has written a book called 'Orpah'. It is the fictional story of Naomi's daughter-in-law from the book of Ruth. It has especially been written for teenage girls in mind although it could be enjoyed by anyone. Helen has written a book on Evangelism. This book has a two-fold purpose. Firstly it's for training Christians in evangelism, and secondly the story of Love Hobart is woven through the book and how we got to do what we do. There are also a lot of stories from the streets and the kids who are mentioned in her book are so excited. A few of them will speak at the book launch.
